Schaefer, Albert Henry, 84, of Evansville, Illinois, died Saturday, June 3, 2018, in Red Bud, Illinois. Albert was born on December 14, 1933, at Foster Pond, the son od Jacob Henry, and Frances Cecelia, nee Eschmann, Schaefer.

Mr. Schaefer was a contractor and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ellis Grove, IL.

Albert married the love of his life, Joyce Bergmann, on July 4, 1960, in Prairie Du Rocher, IL.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Henry, Clarence, and William Schaefer; sisters, Gertrude Paulter, Frances Rahn, Josephine Smith, and Theresa Schaefer, in infancy; son-in-law, Gerald Guebert; brothers-in-law, Leo Paulter, Donald Hess, and Victor Smith.

In addition to his wife Albert is survived by his children, Christina Guebert, Dundee, FL., Luke Schaefer, Poplar Bluff, MO., Neal (Rhonda) Schaefer, Red Bud, IL., Matthew (Cindy) Schaefer, Red Bud, IL., Benjamin (Astrid) Schaefer, Waechtersbach, Germany, Jennifer (Kevin) Jacobsen, Chester, IL., Amanda (Terry Boguskie) Schaefer, Greenbrier, TN., brothers, Robert (Martha) Schaefer, Evansville, IL., and Martin (Jeanette) Schaefer, Red Bud, IL.; sisters, Regina (Robert) Scherle, Ruma, IL., and Marie Hess, Red Bud, IL., grandchildren, Mallory (Andre) Salhab, Davenport, FL., Nicholas Guebert, Dundee, Fl., Tiffany (Shawn) Wiegard, Red Bud, IL., Brittany (Stephen Brown) Schaefer, Renault, IL., Clint Schaefer, Red Bud, IL., Ciara (Bryan Fleetwood) Schaefer, Red Bud, IL., Melissa Schaefer, Waechtersbach, Germany, Bryan Schaefer, Red Bud, IL., Cody Jacobsen, Chester, IL., Kaitlyn (Kyle Madden) Todd, Columbia, TN., Kourtney (James Johnson) Todd, Spring Hill, TN., Kiley Todd, Greenbier, TN., and Hunter Boguskie, Greenbrier, TN.; great-grandchildren, Hayden Salhab and Olivia Salhab, both of Davenport, FL., Ayden, and Mason Wiegard, both of Red Bud, IL., Cain Huegle, Red Bud, IL., Braxten DeShazier, Columbia, TN., and Lacey Johnson, Spring Hill, TN., nieces, nephews great nieces and great nephews, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in memory of Albert to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 1359 Broadway Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. at St Mary of Divine Maternity, Ellis Grove, IL. Father Larry Lemay will be officiating.

A celebration of Life will follow immediately after in the church’s Parish Center.
